Kelly Clan Family Reunion
For twenty years, the members of the Kelly family met every five years bringing our families scattered throughout Britain and the United States, for a Kelly Clan Family Reunion. These were held in Scotland or England; but this year the families decided to hold it in the USA and selected Clermont, Florida as the central place for our week-long get together in July 2010.
Vacation Village Resort offered the perfect combination of reasonable-priced comfortable accommodations, on-site activities for both our robust teens and laid-back Grandpas, with access to plenty of shopping and tourist attractions for all.
Everyone agreed that having our own rustic villa for each family was the right move. We could do our own individual thing at our own place while getting together at the huge pool to hang out in the early mornings and party in the evenings, utilizing the Rec Hall's large kitchen facilities and room for a catered BBQ by Oakwood Restaurant; family group photo session, and family activities including dancing and showing our 'Golden Oldie' home movies on the Rec Room's DVD player. We really packed the fun in and still managed a Pub Night at the aptly-named Kelly's Brickhouse Pub in Clermont.

While this was important, what made our stay most memorable was the warm welcome and service provided by the staff. From the moment we entered their office and saw the welcome poster they made just for us to the generous late check-out arrangements, they could not have been better.
If you're looking for swank accommodations, there are plenty of high-end hotels with accompanying prices. But for a home-spun family or group holiday, Vacation Village is the best option.
